About Anthaya Art Gallery

Anthaya Art Gallery and Framing Center is the brainchild of Photographer, an artist in his own rights, David Charlton after he realized the need for a framing center in the Western District of New Providence and is fondness for art, in particular Bahamian Art.  He also saw the need to have more venues to properly showcase the arts which is a strong component of our culture.  The Gallery affords both the seasoned artist as well as the ‘up and coming’ artist the opportunity to showcase their work.

David presented his idea to his wife and partner, Laura Pratt-Charlton, who as usual, gave her stamp of approval and full support of the new business venture.  She even added her ‘two cents’ to the project by suggesting that they also showcase native handbags and jewellery.

The name for the Gallery came about in usual fashion, as with all their other businesses, it was named after one of their daughters, the baby.  The Gallery opened for business in December, just days before Christmas in 2007 and has seen a steady flow of patrons from every community and all walks of life.

The Gallery offers custom framing, canvas mounting, photo restoration and consignment art.
